This year we are partnering with Kroul Farms as a pick-up site for their annual CSA program nearly every Thursday of the growing season.
HOW KROUL FARM’S CSA PROGRAM WORKS
Community Supported Agriculture shares have become a popular way to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer in your area. Here’s how it works:
- Invest in sustainable farming by paying for your share at the beginning of the growing season
- Receive an allotment of fresh produce each week
- Promote healthy cooking and living with your family
Their CSA share will range in weight, based on the produce that’s fresh and ready to go. They estimate lighter week shares to weigh 5-10 lbs, and heavier week shares to weigh 10-20 lbs. Lettuce weighs less than potatoes, which weigh more than peppers. We need this flexibility to strike a fair balance from week to week. Check out the Kroul Farms webpage to see what your share might look like.
SIGN UP TODAY AND SELECT DAN AND DEBBIE’S CREAMERY AS YOUR PICK UP LOCATION
Our convenient location in downtown Ely makes it easy for residents of both Cedar Rapids and Iowa City areas to enjoy fresh produce all summer long. Pick up is available at our creamery, located at 1600 Main St, Ely.
To sign up, complete our online order form or download the brochure below. Fill it out and mail it in, with your payment, to the farm.
